SWING BED SERVICES
Medicare Skilled Care for patients meeting criteria
Private pay care on a short-term basis for patients in transition
between acute or skilled care and home or other type of continuing care.
Patients are transferred when the level of care exceeds what can be
provided at this facility, patient request or excessive length of stay
(in order to stay within CAH regulations of the 96 hours average).
Transportation is arranged based on the medical assessment of the
patient’s condition (Air, ground ambulance using local or other service, private vehicle transport).
The facility provides 24 hour RN staffing in acute care – these
personnel are responsible for care of Acute, Swing Bed, Emergency,
OB, Newborn patients and medical and surgical outpatients who are
admitted to the acute area.
A physician or physician assistant with Physician back up is on call 24 hours daily

TRANSFER OF PATIENTS
Patients are transferred when the level of care exceeds what can be provided at this
facility or the patient requests transfer to another facility.
